The Festool FES707126 MFT/3 CONTURO Edge Bander Table is a professional workstation designed to convert the Festool CONTURO KA 65 edge bander into a stationary edge-banding machine. Instead of guiding the edge bander by hand along the workpiece, the KA 65 is mounted securely into the table so that the workpiece can be guided past the machine. This makes edging smaller panels, narrow parts, straight edges, curves, free-form shapes and mitred workpieces easier, safer and more controlled. It is a powerful addition to cabinetmaking, furniture production, shopfitting and board-processing environments where repeatable edging quality matters.

The CONTURO as a stationary machine
To work with the CONTURO as a stationary unit, simply insert the machine in an adapter plate in the MFT 3 multifunction table or a bench you have built yourself. Not only can you affix edging to straight edges or curves, but also oblique edges with an angle between 90° – 45° because the CONTURO can be tilted 90° – 45° in the stationary unit.
Attaching edging to straight or shaped parts
This stationary working method is very practical for straight edges along small or narrow workpieces that are difficult to clamp. The edge is inserted in the usual way, the workpiece is then guided along the rail while even pressure is applied to the contact roller.
Attaching edging to mitre joints
For attaching edging to mitre joints, the CONTURO is simply tilted in the stationary unit to the desired angle (angles of 90° – 45° are possible). The guide rail adapter ensures that the edge is glued on straight and does not run off course. The rail can be set for edge thicknesses of 0.5 – 3 mm. The workpiece is then simply guided past the CONTURO and the edging is glued on.
Pro Tips
- Use the MFT/3 CONTURO table when edging smaller, narrow or shaped parts where handheld edge banding becomes difficult.
- For mitred edging, take time to set the swivel angle and guide system carefully before applying adhesive.
- Feed the workpiece steadily past the mounted KA 65 and keep even pressure against the guide system.
- Use scrap material to test the edge overhang, feed direction and angle setup before working on finished panels.
- Keep the sliding guides, table surface and pressure area clean so that the workpiece moves smoothly during edging.
- For repeat batch work, set up one accurate reference piece first, then keep the same machine and guide settings for the remaining parts.
How to Use
- Set up the MFT/3 CONTURO table on a firm, level surface.
- Mount the Festool CONTURO KA 65 edge bander into the table adapter according to the operating instructions.
- Secure the edge bander using the slide-lock fixing system.
- Set the required swivel angle for straight, curved or mitred edging work.
- Adjust the sliding guides and guide rail adapter according to the workpiece and edging thickness.
- Prepare the KA 65 adhesive system and insert the edging material as normal.
- Position the workpiece horizontally on the table surface.
- Guide the workpiece steadily past the mounted edge bander with controlled feed pressure.
- Check that the edge is feeding straight and that the banding does not run off course during mitred edging.
- After edging, trim, scrape, sand or polish the edge as required for the final finish.
