It’s ideal when you want the airflow capacity of a larger “backbone†line but need to connect to compact valves, cylinders, pilot lines, gauges, or smaller pneumatic accessories. Keep longer runs on 12 mm to help reduce pressure drop, then reduce to 6 mm only where the smaller circuit begins. This keeps systems efficient, neat, and far easier to troubleshoot later.
